“Say It’s So” – Mateo

19 May

Now I walk through endless nights.
Let the streetlights pass the time.
And even though your call don’t come, no
I still pray you’re by the phone.
And I know this don’t sound right,
but I hope you hurt like I.
Then I know you sympothize.
You’re my peace of mind.

And maybe you sit at the window waiting.
Maybe bad days just repeat & rewind.
Maybe the truth is the walls are caving in.
Just say it, say it’s so.

Say it.
Say it’s so.

Coffee Break

17 May

This afternoon, a few friends of mine joined me for coffee at one of Oakland’s newest additions, Noble Cafe, located on Grand St. off of Lake Merritt. It’s always nice to step away and talk with these two about every nothing under the sun. haha.

Levi released his new line yesterday. The shirts and snapbacks are pretty sweet. It’s no surprise that this release is a direct reflection of Levi’s positive message that he’s strived so hard to send out to his growing audience.

As much as I loved the shirts and snapbacks, I couldn’t pass up the deck. Now, my only problem will be whether or not I want to use it. Let’s face it, that shit is pretty.

Lost Hearts

8 May

It’s always nice to get back in touch with friends that you haven’t spoken to in quite some time. I got to catch up with a friend yesterday and in the time we were talking, he put me back on the right path. So many questions have been up in the air for me and it only took him a few hours to sort things out and give me the clarity I need. Little did we know, that in the time that we hadn’t been talking, we were going through the exact same thing.

But I guess life is sort of funny that way.

It’s time to make moves…

THE AVENGERS

7 May

I tried really hard to dodge the crowds this weekend. So much so that I politely declined invites to go watch it with friends. But after days of, “IT WAS SO GOOD!” and “YOU HAVE TO SEE IT! GO SEE IT!” I decided to watch the last screening Sunday night.

My brother and I headed out to the theater, got there just in time and to to our surprise, we got some pretty decent seats. I’ll have to admit, I was pretty skeptical, but all in all, it was a pretty damn good movie. The only thing that really bugged me was that Natasha Romanoff didn’t sound Russian at all. I guess I loved the Black Widow so much that I thought they’d keep that bit. lol.

If you haven’t seen it, go see it. I’m trying so hard to refrain from giving any bits out. hahaha.

Now Playing | “Bring Me Your Love” – City and Colour

My heart is going to hop on a plane and will be here tonight from New York to San Francisco. I’m excited and anxious. I can’t wait to see him. It isn’t too often that someone comes into your life and reminds you of the things you once loved & who inspires you.

We’ve counted down weeks, days & now we’re down to mere hours. But I think, in our hearts, we’ve waited for this moment for years.

I Can’t Make You Love Me

24 Apr

I’ve been listening/watching Adele’s “Live At The Royal Albert Hall” for the past few days. She’s so charming and such a doll. I absolutely love her style, her songwriting, her voice & just the way she carries herself.

What I recently noticed, after having watched this show a many many times, she has a pain in her voice that is so deeply felt. It isn’t a physical pain, but an emotional pain. It’s clear that she has gone through so much and that’s something we can all relate to.

One of my favorites on this album/dvd is her rendition of Bonnie Raitt’s, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

If you haven’t seen this entire show, you should do right by yourself and pick up a copy.

Till next time, loves.
